Jimmy Lambert
Jimmy Lambert is famous across Wythenshawe for his catchphrases and Scottish lilt, a reminder of his childhood in the Ayrshire village of Mauchline. He presents the 50s and 60s Pop Explosion show every Sunday morning (9-11am) and also his Seventies Show on Thursday evening at 9pm.
He moved to England in his late teens with his mates, first to the Lake District, before having to flee Kendal after inadvertently enraging a local gang (listen to his Meet The Presenter interview with Roz below), and ending up in Manchester.
Before being let loose on the radio, Jimmy was quite a wild guy, but as he has got older he has found pleasure entertaining on the radio.
"I used to like doing extreme sports but unfortunately I had to stop, the good news is I am still allowed to play some great music on both my shows. I started over twenty five years ago on Wythenshawe hospital radio, and for the last twenty plus years I have been at WFM and I have loved every minute"
