Ever thought, "wouldn't it be great to catch up with my local team, even when I can't make it to a match"? Well now you can!

On Saturday afternoons we have launched our regular live football commentary, featuring home matches from our local sides Wythenshawe Town and Wythenshawe FC.

We kicked it all off on Saturday 20th September at Ericstan Park, when Town were playing Avro. The rain poured and after a poor first half, Town clawed it back in the second with a 2-2 equaliser.

WFM Sports Team commentator Mackenzie Smallman kept the excitement of this first Saturday broadcast flowing, as Town's performance kept on improving and almost turned the game around.

Following a pilot broadcast in April, when Town played 'the Ammies' in the "El Civico" derby, it was deemed such as success that listeners asked if we could have regular WFM commentary on Saturday afternoons. So by popular demand here it is.

Mackenzie says, this new show allows "supporters across the area to stay involved in games without attending, and gives a wider audience in the local community a glimpse of the magic of non-league football."
