An ancient martial art using sticks from the Philippines, Eskrima, also known as Arnis or Kali, has become a big hit in Wythenshawe. Instructor Johnny Cowan tells Off the Post host Andrew Donegan, it is the martial art people may not have heard of, but when they do, it is very often the one for them.

Men and women from different walks of life find it helps them keep fit, focus and have fun. It is an inclusive sport with a long history and tradition and in this interview Johnny, who has been practicing Eskrima for 26 years, shares his passion.

Training sessions are Mondays at the Black Belt Academy and Thursdays at United States of Wythenshawe, each session from 7-9pm. Just come along and see for yourself!
